Yoga with Nathalie Ezendam-Keller at creche Inimini
the yogateacher am i, Nathalie Ezendam-Keller.
After the Art Academy i specialised in portraitphotography, of children and families. In photography i experienced how intriguing it was to work with children.Their inpredictablility gave me a challenge. Children force you to be really in the present, and to join them in their whimsical world.
During the Academy i met with Sogyal Rinpoche (author of 'The Tibetan book of living and dying'), a Tibetan monk who spreads the philosophy of the Tibetan Buddhism in Europe, and allso founded in Amsterdam a centre that was named 'Rigpa',('Awareness').
After an introduction-course in meditation, i became a student of Sogyal Rinpoche and learned to apply the basics of Tibetan-buddhist meditation in practice.
In 2004 my first son Leon was born. When Leon was two years old, I took him with me to the Rigpa-centre to join a workshop about meditation with children, by Kerry Lee Maclean . This workshop stimulated me to further integrate the meditation into daily life with the family.
Shall we do 'Buddha-watching?' Leon and his brother Jona ask. Buddha-watching is the term they invented for meditation 'and you do it after brushing your teeth', they say.
Seeing his mother practice yoga at home, made him interested. Sungreetings he was already familiar with(a series of yoga-postures).
Four months after the birth of Jona, my second son, in 2007, i followed the Children's Yoga education with Marjolein Tiemstra.
After receiving the certificate for Children's Yogateacher, i started right away to teach yoga in a creche (Inimini, Willemientje).
My experience in working with children in photography, the meditation-studies, the yoga-experience of the last 15 years, and last but not least the inspiration my own children give me every day, are definitely an enrichment for the yoga-lessons.
After finishing the Children's Yoga education i followed the second year of the Raya Yoga School for yogateachers.
Last i followed two days of Chakratraining at Dolfijnwellness to incorporate in children's yogalessons.
I teach in my studio and in several creches and in primary school.
